Perouges

On the way to Perouges we went past private ponds which they use for cultivating duck, fish and frog legs. Not that I want to try frog legs. There were a few plots growing wheat, corn and sunflowers.

Perouges is a medieval town with cobble stone streets made from river stones. They have tried to preserve the town since 1903. There is currently a 100 inhabitants living in the town. A festival is held in early June were everyone who attends is asked to dress in costume. Those who attend in costume get free entry.

Lighting in the town is subtle and there is also lighting in the cobble stones.

Behind the little door is the electricity meter.

Lyon

Lyon was once the capital of France. It is a big city.

The buses were too big for the roundabout and had to reverse to get round.

In the old part of town the doors have service buttons which you can press to open the door. They open up to access to staircases and a adjoining rooms.

Vienne

The city of Vienne with its Roman temple.

There was a jazz festival being held in town when we arrived.

An example of a greek mosaic, with small tiles.

Tournon

A Suspension bridge at Tournon and the vineyards growing in the hills.

At the farmers market they were even seeing live chickens.

Entertainment on the cruise

Last night the ships crew entertained us with a couple of funny skits. One of Cinderella had the crew and passengers laughing. Simple but funny. One of the crew sang. We found out that one couple had been married for 63 years.

After the show we danced to YMCA, twister, rock around the clock, elvis. No one has been using the GYM so they thought that we should get some dancing in, to work off all the food we have been eating. So we danced from swing to 60s, 70s, 80s and modern.
